What we do, and what we don’t.

Who you are booking with

Always the host, never SlowCompass. We do not take payment, hold a booking, or act as an agent. When you use the action on a listing you go to the host’s own booking page or to their contact details.

That means the host’s terms apply — their cancellation policy, their refunds, their insurance. We publish the policy we were told and the date we checked it.

Messages

We do not relay messages to hosts. Each host page states how that host prefers to be reached, and nothing you send them passes through us.

Accessibility

Every listing states its access position plainly, including when the answer is no. Cliff paths with stairs are described as cliff paths with stairs. If an access fact is missing or wrong, tell us and we will check it with the host.

Corrections

Tell us what is wrong and which listing it is on. We check with the host, correct the page, and update the last-checked date. If a host disputes an editorial judgment rather than a fact, we say so rather than quietly changing it — see how we select.
